Thirty-year old Mokone Tsoeu is the youngest regional manager at InzaloEMS and it’s easy to see why. He is vocal, confident, and committed to his craft.
“I am direct and always tell the truth. I’m a talker!” he says. Mokone did his accounting articles at InzaloEMS from 2016 and has never looked back. Shortly after graduating with a Bachelor of Commerce, Accounting Degree from the University of the Free State, he was promoted to the position of Project Manager – again the youngest to hold such a position in the company. He explains, “The culture of mentorship is really instilled in the company,” he adds. “My mentor, Pierre Kruger, (Senior Manager, Support) was the best!”
With the strong support from senior management, it wasn’t long before he was promoted again as Regional Manager for 4 provinces. The ethos of paying it forward continues in the company as Mokone himself has mentored a number of young people into their current positions.
Amongst the provinces that he manages, one is his home province of Kwa-Zulu Natal. Hailing from Qwa Qwa, Mokone visits his parents and childhood home as often as possible. In his free time, when he’s not on the golf course, he is reading books related to South African politics.
Mokone is dedicated to service excellence. He says that customer satisfaction is key and the CFO and municipal manager at each municipality, must be happy. “They know I am an intellectual related to numbers. I don’t just crunch numbers – I interpret the standards and mSCOA regulations related to their service delivery requirements. I apply myself and am committed to tasks.”
Perhaps his biggest success, he says, was moving Beaufort West municipality as a Disclaimer from the Auditor General to a Qualified Audit. “This is a huge step for any municipality,” he says proudly.
Mokone is looking forward to another triumph this year as he also brings the Nquthu municipality in KZN also from a Disclaimer to a Qualified Audit in this financial year. “And then, expanding on the use of InzaloEMS’s custom-built ERP solutions for local government, we know we can help them to obtain an Unqualified Audit soon.”
Nurturing talent is strongly promoted at InzaloEMS. Makone Tsoeu’s potential was picked up by his mentors because of his go-getter personality. His strong commitment to his clients, embodying the InaloEMS code, paves the way to efficient and successful municipal financial systems.
