Dedication and hard work combined with a young, bright South African mind is bound to be a recipe for success. This is exactly what former student, Lehlohonolo Hlalele, encapsulates. Lehlohonolo formed part of the Inzalo EMS traineeship programme and recently qualified as a Professional Accountant (SA), through The South African Institute of Professional Accountants (SAIPA).
Lehlohonolo’s story
Lehlohonolo’s three (and a half) year studying journey is best described through his life motto: “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” His grit and passion for continuous learning, motivated him during the three years of completing his articles, whilst studying for, and passing the SAIPA Professional Evaluation. With that said, nothing good comes without a challenge. Lehlohonolo admits the studying process, completing competencies and dealing with a variety of clients were at times difficult. Nevertheless, nothing could stand in the way of his goals.
Since receiving his PA(SA) qualification in October 2020, Lehlohonolo is yet to pack away the books. Looking forward his qualification symbolises the horizon opening to a better future. He plans on qualifying as a Tax Practitioner, thereafter, hopes to start on his MBA, specialising in Strategic Management and Finance. For Lehlohonolo, his current PA(SA) qualification signifies the opportunity to shift into different sectors of the economy, whilst continuing to learn and grow within these sectors.
Lehlohonolo’s advice for young students aiming to become a Professional Accountant, lies in dedication and chasing your dreams. He encourages the youth to remain patient with themselves and their journey, whilst trusting that their faith will get them to where they need to be.
