RENEWABLE ENERGY

Did you know South Africa experiences load shedding up to 15% of the time?

Load shedding is badly impacting municipalities’ service performance as many local government entities still rely on Eskom for their daily power supply.

Besides affecting the overall standard of service delivery, power outage interruptions also disrupt municipalities’ work processes, causing endless frustrations for municipal officers and staff members.

Inzalo Solar Solution eliminates the inconveniences caused by power outage interruptions and is the ideal opportunity for local government entities to become more self-sufficient.

OVERVIEW

Inzalo Solar Solutions was developed to offer an integrated solar power system for South African municipalities. Our solar solutions consist of a range of products including inverters, solar panels and solar batteries.

We have selected our products to be upgradeable, allowing your municipality to initially invest in a few solar panels, small inverter, and battery back-up until you can afford to completely go off-the-grid. Off Grid systems are not connected to Eskom’ grid and are designed to include a combination of solar panels and battery capacity, ensuring that bad weather conditions do not implicate the power supply.

Most areas in South Africa receive over 2 500 hours of sunshine every year, that averages to 4.5 – 6.5 kWh of solar-radiation per day!

Inzalo Solar Solution product breakdown

We supply solar panels, inverters and solar batteries!

SOLAR PANELS

Our solar panels include Tier 1 Solar panels and are supplied by well-known and respectable brands such as JA Solar, Jinko, Canadian Solar, CNBM, etc. We use 445W – 550W panels as they are the newest on the market and offer the best in solar yield. Solar Panel products come with a 25-year linear performance warrantee and a 5 to 10-year manufacturing warrantee subject to the make and model installed.

INVERTERS

The main function of an Inverter is to convert the DC power harvested by solar panels into useable AC power. It also controls the power in your municipal building and determines the quantity of power that needs to be produced. We supply three different Inverter brands – Sunsynk, Schneider and Victron. All inverters are available in a variety of sizes and come with a 5-year warranty. These units are recognised as leading brands and offer brilliant support.

SOLAR BATTERIES

Solar batteries are crucial for any Off-grid or Hybrid solar system that requires backup power. A Hybrid system is the standard solar system and uses solar energy to charge batteries and supply power. Hybrid systems use Eskom as a tertiary power supply. An Off-grid system is not connected to Eskom’s grid and instead relies solely on the solar system.

We can supply Revov batteries, however this second life battery originates from old electrical cars from Japan and China. We recommend Blue nova IG3N and Freedom won batteries, as these options are generally better and are assembled in South Africa. Blue Nova comes with a 10-year warrantee on DU models and 5-year warrantee on BP models. This is however subject to supplier’s terms and conditions and comes with an 80% Depth of Discharge. All batteries are Lithium-iron and available in different sizes depending on their applications.

Once the solar installation is complete, a certified electrician will issue you with a Certificate of Compliance. This will also be signed off and designed by a PR Engineer.

ACCESSORIES

We supply additional equipment such as:

  • Trunking
  • Battery cables
  • Solar cables
  • Electrical circuit breakers, cables and boards
  • Solar panel mounting structure (for all roof types – ground mount structures are also available)
  • Consumables

Top benefits of switching to solar energy

  • Reduces monthly electricity costs – avoids inflated electricity prices.
  • No down time – struggling with load shedding becomes a problem of the past.
  • Decreases environmental impact – solar power is a renewable source of energy.
  • Long-term energy solution – solar panels can last between 25 to 30 years.
  • Cost-effective – solar panels require little to no maintenance. (General maintenance includes keeping the panels clean from dust to ensure maximum efficiency. Areas that are prone to dust storms would require that the panels are cleaned more often, compared to areas with less dust.)
  • Maintains staff productivity – no disruptive generator noise.
